Russell T. Perkins, appointed March, 2008 as Chancellor, Davidson County Chancery Court, Part IV, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Russell T. Perkins was born on September 23, 1956 in Nashville, TN. He was educated in Nashville’s public schools. Mr. Perkins has been married to Renita J. Perkins since 1978; they have four adult children and one granddaughter. He graduated from Tennessee State University in 1978 and Ohio State University’s College of Law in 1981.

August 1981 to August 1982, Mr. Perkins was an Assistant Attorney General in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. From August 1982 to April 1994, he was an Associate and a Partner in the Nashville law firm of Williams and Dinkins. From April 1994 to April 2008, he served in several capacities in the Tennessee Attorney’s General Office, most notably as lead counsel for Tennessee’s historic tobacco settlement and litigation, Tennessee’s Consumer Advocate for public utility cases, and Special Deputy Attorney General for Litigation. In 2000, Mr. Perkins received the William M. Leech, Jr. Award.
