Criminal Court, Division III
A native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Judge Cheryl Blackburn received her B.A., with honors, from Vanderbilt University in 1969. She attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina and received an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Vanderbilt in 1972. Judge Blackburn was awarded her J.D. from the Nashville School of Law in 1979.
Judge Blackburn held several positions with the Dede Wallace Center and the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation prior to joining the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office in 1979. She was appointed to the bench of Division III, Criminal Court, in August, 1996. Judge Blackburn is a certified Criminal Trial Specialist.
