Judge Carol Soloman
Eighth Circuit Court

Carol L. Soloman presides over the 8^th Circuit Court for the 20^th Judicial District Davidson County, Tennessee.  She practiced law in Davidson County and surrounding counties for 19 years prior to being elected to the bench in September, 1998.  Her primary emphasis in her private law practice was family law and criminal law.

Judge Soloman is a 1979 graduate of the Nashville School of Law.  She received her undergraduate degree from Peabody College (now known as Vanderbilt University at Peabody).

She is a member of many organizations.  Judge Soloman is a former assistant district attorney general.  Judge Soloman is a member of Democratic Women, Women’s Political Caucus, Goodlettsville and Madison Chambers of Commerce, Trial Judges Association, and the Domestic Relations Committee of the Tennessee Judicial Conference.  She is also a Board Member for Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Select Committee on Children and Youth, and Growth Enterprises Nashville.

Judge Soloman is married to James Berry.  She is the mother of four children and grandmother of six children.  Judge Soloman enjoys gardening and is an avid motorcycle rider and member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Association.
