Seventh Circuit Court
Randy Kennedy is Judge of the Seventh Circuit Court which handles all Probate and Estate Administration cases for Davidson County, Tennessee. Judge Kennedy was first appointed to replace Judge Frank Clement in 2003, and was elected to the Circuit Court Judgeship in 2004 and re-elected in 2006. Judge Kennedy served as Presiding Judge of the 20th Judicial District from 2005-2007.
A native of Davidson County,Tennessee, Judge Kennedy graduated from Donelson High School, received his B.S. from MiddleTennessee State University in 1972 and his J.D. from the Nashville School of Law in 1977. Judge Kennedy also formerly served as a member of the Metropolitan Council for Nashville/Davidson County, Tennessee, having been elected to two terms and was a member of the Metro Charter Revision Commission from 1995-2009.
Judge Kennedy was engaged in the general practice of law for 26 years, most recently as the managing partner of Kennedy & Brown. He is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Tennessee Association for Justice, Tennessee Trial Judges Association, Harry Phillips American Inn of Court, National College of Probate Judges, and the Nashville Bar Foundation. Judge Kennedy also currently serves as vice president of the Tennessee Trial Judges Association, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Nashville Bar Association and Executive Committee of the Tennessee Judicial Conference. He is also an instructor at the Nashville School of Law teaching a course on Wills and Estates, and is a frequent lecturer on probate practice.
